Edward Towry Whyte (1850–1932)

FR — Peintre et architecte britannique, formé au Pembroke College de Cambridge. Passionné d’archéologie et d’égyptologie, il effectua plusieurs voyages en Égypte, où il puisa une source d’inspiration durable. Il publia de nombreux articles consacrés aux antiquités égyptiennes et fut membre du comité de la British School of Archaeology in Egypt, contribuant activement à la recherche et à la valorisation du patrimoine antique.

EN — British painter and architect educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge. Deeply passionate about archaeology and Egyptology, he travelled to Egypt several times, finding lasting inspiration there.He published numerous articles on Egyptian antiquities and served on the committee of the British School of Archaeology in Egypt, contributing actively to the study and preservation of ancient heritage.
